How long have you been in business?
Distinctive Weddings was established in 2007, by brother and sister team Bláithín O’ Reilly Murphy and Oisín O’ Reilly, the company is based in rural north County Dublin. Bláithín and Oisín have over seven years of combined event management experience in a collection of different postings with various companies and organizations both in Ireland and abroad.

Do you have a portfolio?
Yes, Distinctive Weddings has a complete portfolio of previous events and weddings we have planned and coordinated which we would be delighted to show you during our no obligation complimentary consultation.

Do you have references?
Yes, we have extensive testimonials from our previous clients on our website and can arrange for you to speak with past clients if you would like.

Do you have public liability insurance?
Yes, we maintain a comprehensive set of insurance policies to cover every eventuality including complete professional indemnity insurance, public liability insurance, theft etc...

Do you accept commission from suppliers ?
No, under no circumstances will Distinctive Weddings accept commission from suppliers, all discounts, commissions etc. are passed directly to our clients giving you the best value for money. In 2008 we saved our clients over €89,000 through comission and trade discounts passed directly to them.

What is your cancellation policy?
In the event, the Wedding event is cancelled by any party, the Planner will retain the initial 30% deposit regardless of progress on the Wedding, the client shall be liable for all costs borne by the Planner in the planning of the wedding, up until the Planner is notified in writing of the cancellation of the wedding by the Client. If the wedding is cancelled within 20days of the date, the Planner is entitled to charge the clients the entire cost specified in the contract.

Do you have a preferred suppliers list?
Yes, Distinctive Weddings maintains an extensive database of wedding suppliers and has awarded the best suppliers in each category with preferred status, this status attests to the excellent service and value for money these suppliers provide.

Do you coordinate Gay or Lesbian Weddings/ Commitment ceremonies?
We can organise Gay or Lesbian Weddings/ Commitment Ceremonies in Ireland and will be happy to assist with yours. Ireland has a number of unique and wonderful settings for such weddings including castles, period homes, hotels and an assortment of rural locations, cliff tops, woodlands etc.
Such ceremonies will have no legal validity in the Republic of Ireland, so if you want your marriage to be legally registered, you will need to have a separate legal ceremony abroad.
The romantic element of every Wedding is of utmost importance and we are happy to work with every couple to help achieve a meaningful and special occasion.

Is hiring a wedding planner going to be expensive for me?
Not at all! With Distinctive Weddings you can set aside your worries about ballooning budgets. Our services can be carefully tailored to work with whatever budget you set. The role of a Wedding Co-ordinator is to work within your budget, providing strict financial control of your wedding expenses. It is our job to find the services you need, without exceeding your budget.
We have many contacts within the wedding industry in Ireland and abroad and can often negotiate a much better rate on services than you could - after all, you only have one wedding day, but we have many! These savings are then passed on to you and as a result, you can easily recover the expense of hiring us. You will have the peace of mind and security of knowing that we are taking care of all the details.

How much does it cost?
The exact fee will depend on the size of the wedding and level of organisation involved. Before you book our services, we will sit down with you and go through what is required, providing you with an estimate of our fees for each service. You are free to have us organise as little or as much of your wedding as you wish, from just booking vendors or the venue, to leaving everything in our hands and having complete on the day coordination. Distinctive Weddings is a fee based wedding planning consultancy, this provides the best value for money to you and ensures that all discounts etc. we receive are passed directly back to you. Flat fee’s also ensure that you are fully aware at all times how much your wedding planning services are going to cost you.
Flat fees do not include expenses such as mileage or overnight rates which are charged in accordance with the civil service mileage and expense rates currently charged at the following rates: (Mileage: €1.2673 per mile, Overnight Rate: €145.32 per person)
